Theodosius was a Roman emperor who ruled from 379 to 395 AD. He was known for his efforts to consolidate Christianity as the state religion of the Roman Empire and for his role in the final division of the empire into eastern and western halves. He is also remembered for his military campaigns and for his attempts to maintain stability within the empire during a time of significant political and religious change.
