Llywelyn the Last was the last native Prince of Wales before its conquest by Edward I of England. He ruled from 1246 until his death in 1282. Llywelyn is remembered for his efforts to maintain Welsh independence and for his leadership during the Welsh Wars of the 13th century. His reign marked the end of an era of independent Welsh rule and the beginning of English dominance in Wales.
