Wilfrid Laurier was a Canadian politician and the seventh Prime Minister of Canada, serving from 1896 to 1911. He was known for his advocacy of individual liberty, free trade, and compromise between English and French Canada. Laurier was also a strong proponent of immigration and economic development. He is often remembered for his efforts to promote national unity and for his support of bilingualism and multiculturalism in Canada.
