Hasdrubal was a Carthaginian general and statesman who lived during the 3rd century BCE. He was the brother-in-law of the famous Carthaginian general Hannibal and played a significant role in the Second Punic War against Rome. Hasdrubal is known for his military leadership and strategic abilities, particularly during his campaigns in Iberia (modern-day Spain). He is also remembered for his efforts to strengthen Carthage's position in the Mediterranean and expand its influence. Despite his military prowess, Hasdrubal was ultimately defeated by the Roman general Scipio Africanus at the Battle of Baecula in 208 BCE.
