Gregory the Great was a 6th-century pope of the Roman Catholic Church. He is known for his efforts to spread Christianity and for his theological writings. He is also credited with reorganizing the church's administration and for his work in promoting the development of Gregorian chant. Gregory the Great is considered a saint in the Catholic Church and is often referred to as one of the "Four Great Latin Fathers" of the Church.
