Jean Baptiste Bernadotte was a French military officer who later became King Charles XIV
John of Sweden. He was born in 1763 and rose through the ranks of the French army during the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. In 1810, he was elected Crown Prince of Sweden and later ascended to the throne in 1818. As king, he implemented various reforms and modernized Sweden. Bernadotte's reign marked a significant period of peace and stability for Sweden, and he is remembered as one of the country's most influential monarchs.
